NAB: Are You Missing Out on Your Public Holiday Pay?

Compressed Working Week and Public Holiday Pay

NAB recently changed their policy on Flexible Working Arrangements. They’ve removed the requirement to credit you the public holiday, if you work a compressed work week and the public holiday falls on your day off.

NAB’s Response Unsatisfactory

NAB has responded to FSU queries – blaming it on a policy error. FSU does not agree with NAB’s position and will be formally disputing the decision, based on the requirements of the NAB Enterprise Agreement 2016.

Real Impact on Your Pay

With Easter just around the corner, the table below shows the impact on someone who works a compressed work week, from Monday to Thursday, with a regular Friday off. Easter Monday plays out the same way for anyone who works a compressed work week Tuesday to Friday and takes each Monday off.

Working a compressed week with a Public Holiday on Friday, you are paid for 40 hours and work 40 hours – but someone on a standard week works 32 hours and is paid for 40.

Register to be Collectively Represented

If you’re missing out on your Public Holiday pay register to be collectively represented.
