Knowing our rights as workers and sharing stories are two of the most effective ingredients to keep our working lives more healthily balanced. Members, Reps and organisers in the Peninsula region are doing just this by way of informal information evenings set up to enable individuals to connect with colleagues and become more aware of the systems in place to support them at work.

Members and Reps were invited to an initial ‘meet and greet’ evening that took place in March and was attended by the Vic/Tas branch ANZ Team including Local Executive Secretary Darren Martin and ANZ LEC Branch President Yvette-Maree Marcelle. It was an interactive and informal session that included laughter, listening, sharing and venting.

The first information evening took place in May and focused specifically on the ANZ Enterprise Agreement. The group was guided through hours of work, higher duties and classifications. All in attendance found the information relevant and empowering, and were keen for the group to become a regular occurrence in order to provide ongoing support.

Members have set the date for the next information evening in June and are very much looking forward to networking and building their union. Speak to your relevant FSU Rep about setting up a similar group at your workplace!
